Me and my gf came here a couple days ago, and WOW, the food was amazing! I’ve been to many Thai restaurants, and this is the best pineapple fried rice i’ve ever had. As well, the service was top-notch, especially Alan (the Owner’s) chat with us. Please visit Mengrai for a warm and welcoming Thai restaurant experience.

Such a cute and cozy restaurant! The food was flavorful and incredible. I had the chef’s special pad Thai and it was bursting with flavor and so full of ingredients. We got to chat with the owner, Allen, and the head chef Sesi who were both were so kind, accommodating, and just honestly good people. If you’re in Toronto and want to feel like a local, I so recommend coming here ☺️✨

Toronto has really great Thai Food but this was hands down the best of all the Thai places I have been in the city.
Food that one will definitely crave!
It was a weekday and not very busy when we went. Place was has a very quiet and eclectic atmosphere.
Allan (owner) is defiantly a great host and entertainer which added to the whole experience.
We had the red curry lychee. it came in a pineapple which was unique and added to the taste. - highly recommended.
Allan recommended crispy mango chicken which was not on the menu and that was also amazing.
The place is reasonably priced as well hence a great contendor to take your guests from out of town.

We have tried all the downtown Thai staples, such as Pai , Khao San road, Sukhothai, Thai Barn Na and so on, and were looking to try a new place. This showed up as a highly rated establishment, just minutes from where we were.
The approach and ambiance are unlike a typical Thai restairant, offering more of an underground pub style vibe. Exposed brick walls and eclectic, hboho decor gives the space a relaxed, lounge like feel.
he whole experience started on a great note, when they brought the appetizers at double quick time because our son was starving.
The chicken satay was top notch and my usually critical son, enjoyed it immensely. The mango salad paired very well with the satay. The coconut shrimp was the best we’ve ever had in GTA and we order it at every opportunity we get, given it’s my favourite. It was crunchy, juicy and almost oil free. The lemongrass coconut soup was packed with flavour and had a very subtle lemon grass and umami flavour.
We ordered drunken noodles and red chicken curry with pineapple and lychee for the mains which were the top recommendations by the server and we were certainly not disappointed.
The drunken noodle was Thai flat noodles doused in sauce with veggies and chicken, delivering a sweet savoury flavour. Our son devoured the noodles while we were fixated on the red curry. The curry was an unexpected but brilliant combination of pineapple and lychee with spicy chicken. The sweet and spicy flours complimented very well, it was unlike any red curry we have ever tasted.
Our server was very helpful and everyone we interacted with made us feel very welcome. Overall an amazing experience.
We were too full to order desserts, but definitely coming back to try more dishes on the menu and hopefully save some space for the dessert!

The dining experience here is really incredible. The food is delightful and delicately flavoured. Every dish is an experience you don’t want to miss.
I loved the variety of vegan and vegetarian options though I am neither, it made ordering so simple for the ones in our group who were.
The atmosphere is remarkable too. The ambiance. The friendliness and service of the staff was such that it felt as if we were truly special guests. The owner came out and presented our options in his energetic and entertaining way showing pictures and name dropping his famous repeat customers’ choices. We laughed and indulged in the various dishes and well I just can’t hyping this place to anyone and everyone who will listen.
A truly special place with incredible offerings. I will be going back again and again and looking forward to trying new dishes and enjoying my favourites from last night’s selections too.

The owner was incredibly welcoming and showed such great hospitality. He made us feel like guests in his home, not just customers. It’s rare to see this level of kindness and attention these days.

This place is tucked away in the heart of downtown and truly is another gem! We came in during a really cold, Friday evening and were taken away by the incredible hospitality, service and food. The recommendations were honest, insightful and every bite of the dishes we tried were really wholesome. Chef Sasi Meechai truly is incredible and her husband Alan really gives this place a sense of community, love and personality. It felt like we were having beautifully prepared, delicious home-cooked food and the ambience really just added to it all. Highly recommend coming here and trying their dishes, it’s an incredible experience and you leave with so much good energy, warmth and love. Really looking forward to coming back!

Very unique and delicious dishes! The winterlicious menu is worth the money and one of the best Thai restaurants I’ve ever tried! We met the owner of the restaurant and we were greeted so well. I celebrated my birthday dinner and the owner made a drink for me. The ambience is very cozy and vintage.

Definitely received the warmest welcome here from Allan! His hospitality is truly unmatched and much appreciated 🙏 His wife Sasi is a phenomenal chef and also very gentle and kind 🫶 Highly recommend the food here! The Massaman Lamb curry with the peaches was flavorful and came in its own candle lit holder. The curry isn't thick or watery, but plentiful and was enough sauce for my rice. The Lemongrass Creme Brulee was a wonderful treat from Alan! Well balanced flavors with the lemongrass coming through and not overly sweet. The crack was most satisfying and I enjoyed every bite at this place! Amazing couple and great authentic Thai food!🙏
